Welcome

Because we understand how much talking to others who’ve been through the same experience can help, we are here for you if you want a chat, that’s Pat 01424 220665 or Jo 01424 612184

Our Background

After discussion with both patients and professionals a small group began in 1980 with a gentle emphasis on helping each other to realise that one’s approach to breast cancer does help maintain health. If one eats properly, rests and relaxes and gets on with daily life, we find that we are in control, not our disease. Now after 40 years we are still providing support for those who need it. We are a friendly and informal group who welcome people at any point in their journey through breast cancer. We share our cancer experiences, although you don’t even have to talk, if you don’t want to, but just come along and listen, We offer caring and emotional support to each other and help where possible. Everything that is shared between us is confidential. We have occasional demonstrations and talks from beauticians, complementary therapists etc which have been great fun as well as morale boosters, and we try to arrange the odd social event. We also laugh a lot. But most of all it is the support we are able to give each other knowing that we share similar fears, worries and problems that is of the greatest help and comfort. Please feel free to contact us at info@1066pinkladies.org.uk for more information about the group. Details of times and the address of our meetings can be found under Meetings Dates.
